PERSONAL INFORMATION

Scott Schatzman's main areas of practice include estate planning/asset protection planning,  small business/corporate representation, commercial and residential real estate representation, and contractual negotiations and related representation. 

Scott enjoys assisting individuals, families and their businesses in their long term planning to protect and control their assets in the event of disagreement, divorce, dissolution, disability or death. Scott advises small business and non-profit clients in their formation, operation and tax election decisions as well as their succession planning.  He handles a variety of commercial and residential real estate matters, including but not limited to commercial leases, residential leases, and sales agreements.

Scott attends Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri part-time pursuing a master's in tax law.  He is a member of the American Bar Association and St. Louis Sport's Commission Associates.

Scott attended law school at the University of Missouri. While attending law school, Scott assisted in coaching the Missouri Tiger wrestling team from 2001 to 2004 as they climbed to a top ranked team in the country. 

In his collegiate career at Northwestern University, Scott led the Wildcat wrestling team as captain for 3 years and became a 3-time NCAA Division I All-American and the Male Scholar Athlete of Northwestern University in 2000 (Big Ten Medal of Honor). He received the honor of Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 1996. 

During his high school wrestling career at Parkway Central High School in Chesterfield, Missouri Scott compiled a record of 149-0, becoming the only 4-time undefeated State Champion in the state of Missouri. Scott placed 2nd in the 1997 Pan-American Games in Puerto Rico, 1st in the 1997 Maccabi Games in Israel, placed top eight in the 2004 US Senior Nationals and competed in the 2004 Olympic Trials while finishing law school. 

In 2005, Scott was inducted into the Missouri Wrestling Hall of Fame and JCA Hall of Fame.

Outside the practice of law, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife Ann and son Jacob, coaching wrestling, water skiing, relaxing and playing with his four dogs - Chewey, Mocha "Latte", Bitsy and Abigail.
